A legacy built on trust, dedication & long-term relationships
The story of Degano & Partners begins in September 1971, when Nino Degano started his career at La Luxembourgeoise (today known as Lalux) as an internal inspector. From the very beginning, his commitment, discipline, and deep understanding of the insurance business laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong dedication to his clients.
In October 1989, Nino took the next step and became a professional insurance agent. As one of the pioneers of his time, he was among the first to build and manage a network of sub-agents, overseeing not only his own clients but also those of his expanding team. His approach was simple yet powerful: personal service, trust, and long-term relationships.
Over the years, the agency grew steadily and was, for a long period, managed independently. During this time, the office moved from Bertrange to Luxembourg-Merl, establishing itself in one of the first five houses at the entrance of Luxembourg City from the highway, a symbolic step marking both growth and stability.
Behind the scenes, strong support played an essential role. After working with several assistants over the years, Nino found a lasting pillar for the agency in 2010, when Gaby Braghin joined as office secretary. To this day, she remains a key figure, ensuring continuity, organization, and a personal connection with clients.
In October 2014, the next generation joined the journey. Mike Degano, Nino’s son, began his career at Lalux after completing his university studies. He spent one year working directly within Lalux, gaining valuable hands-on experience and industry insight before joining the family agency. Bringing with him a modern vision while preserving the core values established over decades, he quickly became an integral part of the business.
Ten years later, in 2024, dedication and hard work paid off. Mike officially took over the leadership of the agency, marking a new chapter. The “Agence Nino Degano” evolved into "Degano & Partners" and Mike became Managing Director, combining tradition with a forward-thinking approach.
As client demand continued to grow, it became clear that expansion was necessary to maintain the high level of service the agency is known for. In March 2024, Bryan Antony, a long-time friend and experienced sales advisor and marketing specialist, joined the team. Just three months later, Marcel Frisch, a former classmate of Mike and an expert in banking, also came on board. Two years later, both Bryan and Marcel officially became partners, strengthening the company’s expertise and vision.
With continuous growth and an increasing number of clients, the agency remained committed to delivering the same personal and high-quality service. To support this development, a new Office Manager, Sven Pommerell, joined the team in March 2026. With his background in mechanics and administration, he supports daily operations, assists Gaby, and often represents the first point of contact for clients.
Today, Degano & Partners stands for more than just insurance.
It represents over 50 years of experience, a strong family legacy and a modern, dynamic team dedicated to providing tailored solutions and exceptional service.
